Volunteer of the Month is awarded to someone who goes above and beyond in their role at the Home, exemplifying the values of Home of the Innocents in all the work they do and the time they give to the children and families we serve.

Lowe’s Heroes were presented with our October Volunteer of the Month Award. Transforming lives one community at a time has been the mission of Lowe’s Heroes since the volunteer program began in stores more than 10 years ago. The program encourages employees in a location to team together, adopt a volunteer project with a local nonprofit, and make a difference.
Lowe’s Heroes came to our campus with 100 volunteers and made a big difference for our kids! They spent three days renovating and upgrading our entire backyard. They stained and painted our playground, planted new flowers for the fall – and bulbs that will grow in the spring laid a safe rubber mulch base to our playground areas, built new benches for our outdoor classroom, and bought new bicycles, helmets, and basketballs for our kids to enjoy. We are thrilled with the results and know the renovation and upgrades will impact our residents’ lives for years to come!
