Complex Care Center

A Home away from home for children with medical complexities.

The Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC) is our skilled nursing facility, providing short-term, long-term, and respite care for children from birth to age 21.

We care for children who face significant medical, developmental, and physical disabilities, many of whom require ventilator support. Each child receives individualized care from our team of experienced physicians, nurses, and therapists.

Our staff understands the complex needs these children face. We provide around-the-clock primary care on our campus to meet each child’s medical and physical needs. Individualized care means we also meet each child’s social, educational, and therapeutic needs. Residents participate in therapy programs, attend on or off-site school, and enjoy a variety of fun activities such as community outings, swimming, creating art projects, and music therapy.

We strongly believe families play a vital role in their children’s lives. Families continue to be responsible for making decisions for their child. We invite families to visit often and be involved in all aspects of their child’s treatment.

We provide respite care for families that care for medically complex children at home. Respite care provides around-the-clock care in our facility for up to 14 days and can be scheduled several times a year to provide that much-needed break for caregivers.
