Foster Family Summer Cookout - Home of the Innocents

Foster Family Summer Cookout

New connections are vital to the success of foster families, because the more support our families have the more likely it is that our kids will find stability in their foster homes. That is why after weeks of planning, our Foster Care & Adoption Team got together with several of our foster families for the Home of the Innocents Foster Family Summer Cookout! Donations collected through Give 270 in Elizabethtown were used to purchase gift baskets for families, as well as a delicious spread of food. The gift baskets included tickets to Kentucky Kingdom, Legion Waterpark, The Louisville Zoo, Cinemark Movie Theatre, Crowne Point Movie Theatre, and many other items. When it was time to draw the winners, one child from every family got to come up to pick out the name. Everyone loved being able to participate in the drawing, which was evident by the smiles on their faces as they came to the front.

This event provided families the opportunities to spend time together by playing games, explore Nature Park, and participate in some family friendly activities. We loved seeing families connect with each other, some for the first time!

Fun was had and memories were made!
