COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends,

Along with each of you, we continue to learn and adapt to the fast-paced updates about the spread of the COVID-19. We hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and connected during these challenging times.

As the leaders of Home for the Innocents, we want to assure you the health and safety of those we serve and our team members are our highest priorities. We want to provide you with an update on how this situation impacts our operations and how you can continue to help us serve the children and families in our community.

Following the guidelines laid out by  Governor Beshear, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, our team has been working diligently to create and modify plans as this situation unfolds, working to minimize the risk for our residents, clients, and team members.

While our nation is facing uncertainty, those in our care still need us. Our residents are still here with team members committed to taking care of them 24 hours a day. Team members who can work from home are connecting virtually instead of meeting face-to-face.

The team members of our Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center provide care for the most vulnerable children of our Commonwealth. They are extremely susceptible to contagious viruses, and we have limited access to that area of the campus to anyone who isn’t an essential provider of care. We have restricted access to our Residential Treatment and Emergency Shelter area and closed our Aquatic Therapy Center to the public. Non-emergency services provided at Open Arms Children’s Health have been temporarily suspended. All of this is an effort to minimize any spread of the virus among our residents and team members.

This outbreak has already and will continue to impact resources for our organization and all non-profit organizations. Our community’s compassion and dedication to our purpose is more important now than ever, and we are deeply appreciative for all the support you provide.

There are ways you can continue to support Home of the Innocents from a distance during these difficult times. More information about our mission, how we are responding to this crisis and ways to still support us are available on www.homeoftheinnocents.org. You can also find our Amazon Wish List at www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2U0WOFJA72T1G/ref=cm_go_nav_hz, where you can see our most needed items, order, and have them shipped directly to us.

We greatly appreciate your support of our mission and those we serve, especially during difficult times like these. Without you, we would not be able to enrich the lives of children and families with hope, health and happiness. Thank you for all you do for Home of the Innocents and for all you are doing to support our community during these challenging times. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this time of uncertainty. We will get through this together.
