After 11 years, Home of the Innocents has made the difficult decision to discontinue our Home Run 5k/10k at Bernheim Forest. In recent years, we have faced increased competition from other racing events and declining participation. The Home has decided to focus our efforts on other events and activities to generate the funds needed to support the more than 7,000 kids we serve each year.
For those who are still interested in running for our kids, we have partnered with the Louisville Sports Commission and are excited to offer you the chance to participate in the Urban Bourbon Half Marathon on October 25, 2015. By participating in the Urban Bourbon as a fundraiser for the Home, you will receive a discounted registration price of $65. Visit http://lscmarathon.com/ and use code UBHM-HOTI15 to register and raise money for the kids at the Home.
We extend many thanks to all Home Run participants throughout the past 11 years. We will always remember the beautiful autumn mornings we shared with you at Bernheim. The time we experienced with you each year will always be treasured; we always have and continue to deeply appreciate your support of our kids.
We must also extend a special thank you to Bernheim Forest for hosting this event each year, they have truly been a great partner to us.
Special thanks to YUM! Brands Foundation who served at the title sponsor for many years. Last, thank you to our volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly to put this event on year after year. We couldn’t have done it without you.
